A number of daunting challenges faced new management when we arrived at Lava Lite LLC. One of the most important was to design and launch an e-commerce website that captured the flavor of our products, while working with a limited budget and a fast timetable. We interviewed a handful of developers, ranging from one man shops to big agencies. The geeks at DevBridge not only looked the part, but clearly “got” what we wanted. They were quick, worked well collaboratively, were expert in their knowledge of all things geeky and kept an eye on the budget.
Don’t tell them I said this, but we actually enjoyed working with them. We’re all very proud of the new site, which is on a path to exceed the old site’s highest annual sales by over 300%. We continue to work with DevBridge, not only on site enhancements, but also on increasing business through the use of online marketing tactics.
DevBridge was extremely knowledgeable about the development of our new site. They listened to our objectives of wanting a cool and hip website that was easy to manage and update internally after the site launch and quickly created the necessary infrastructure around those objectives. While we wanted an extremely flashy and eye catching site, the designers and programmers always advised us when we may be doing something that may negatively affect our site traffic. DevBridge keeps a very open communication line, which was necessary to achieve the tasks we had to complete within a short timeframe. They took an intense task and kept it controlled and on track from initial concept to final launch. These guys are on top of their work, bring a lot of professionalism and expertise to the table and are even fun to work with as well.
Lava Lite is the original manufacturer of Lava Lamps - lamps with one and only purpose - to entertain and be cool. DevBridge won the bid due to our cost effectiveness, above and beyond accommodations with graphic design, and concept to market delivery timeline that was less than 8 weeks.
This project was an exciting experience, requiring our artistic and technical skills alike. We were requested to develop an introduction animation for the website, combining live video and flash. After a wide variety of revisions the client was happy with the design and functionality, limiting the intro's length to several seconds due to our usability concerns.
DevBridge also developed an extensive review system for Lava Lite products so that Lava Lite could hear what their customers were saying and respond to the reviews.
The project also included a setup of a LavaLite blog, community features such as Lava Lamp sightings, stories, and collector pages.
LavaLite's new e-commerce site runs on our new BisonCart engine, retrieving live shipping quotes from Fedex, processing credit cards, and allowing extensive user, order, content, and product management.
The administrative interface allows Lava Lite to tune their own Meta Keywords, Descriptions, Titles and friendly URLs on products. This feature allows Lava Lite to respond to the market demands quickly, as seen with their Obama Inaugural Lava Lamp.
