Discover the role of product design in a fast-paced custom software consultancy. Join our full-stack agile delivery teams as we design and build a variety of product solutions for clients across a broad range of exciting industries.
What you’ll learn:
It’s hard to get a job in product design without having any experience in the field. Through this internship, you’ll gain experience in working with product managers, product designers and engineers who are shipping working software. At the end of this internship you will be able to cite real life examples (and you firsthand learnings) from working with agile teams.
You will shadow and learn from Devbridge Product Managers and Product Designers as they execute real client work. You will support Product Designers in their day-to-day processes around all things research, UX and UI, including but not limited to: competitive analysis, design pattern/process research, usability testing, workflow mapping, wire/mock creation, and engineering support.You may also support internal product design intitatives.
You will complete an end-to-end product design project, from concept, to execution, to presentation, leaving Devbridge with a crafted portfolio piece that we will leverage in the future to continuously grow our sales and marketing capabilities.
Support:
Onboarding support through a brief curriculum of product related educational sessions
Day to day support provided by a direct manager (Managing Director or Product Design Manager) and a Product Design mentor
Delivery support related to active software development provided by delivery teams (product management, design and engineering)
Responsibilities
Shadow agile ceremonies with active product delivery teams
Support Product Designers in their day-to-day processes around all things research, UX and UI, including but not limited to: competitive analysis, design pattern/process research, usability testing, workflow mapping, wire/mock creation, and engineering support.
Support internal product design initiatives
Concept, execute and present your own end-to-end product design project, leaving us with a crafted portfolio piece
Requirements
Working towards BA/BS Degree
Desire to pursue a career in Product Design
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Sketch, Figma, InVision, Avocode, project management tools (JIRA & Confluence) and communication tools (Outlook and Slack)
