Senior Accountant

Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who will work with Head of Accounting, in an efficient and compliant manner manage Group accounting and financial reporting, oversee the work of inhouse and outsourced bookkeepers and specialists for payroll and tax.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions in assigned entities in Lithuania, United States, Canada

  • Manage invoicing and revenue recognition

  • Perform ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable

  • Ensure timely bank payments and intercompany transfers

  • Oversee payroll performed by outsourced suppliers

  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings and produce error-free accounting reports and financial statements in time

  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

  • Oversee tax audits and tax returns performed by outsourced suppliers

  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, develop groupwide accounting policies

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

Requirements

  • +2 years of proven experience as a chief or senior accountant in multinational environment.

  • University degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting

  • Good spoken and written Lithuanian and English

  • Responsible, self-disciplined, accurate, capable to meet tight deadlines

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures

  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Awareness of business trends

  • Hands-on experience with Intacct accounting software would be considered an advantage

  • Professional certificates would be considered an advantage

Salary for this position ranges from 2000-3300 EUR gross before taxes.*
